Physics students take Airbus tour

Dated: 11 February 2016

Last week,  Woodhouse Physics students visited the Airbus Space and Defence assembly and testing facility in Stevenage (pictured above).

As well as a tour of the design and manufacturing facilities students took part in a "materials and technology for space" workshop and heard about the many career options available working as an engineer in this fast growing sector of the economy.

EADS Astrium is the largest aerospace company in Europe and is involved in designing and building spacecraft and satellites.

Our students found it really interesting to see space probes and satellite currently in development and to think that the contents of the clean rooms which they saw will soon be in orbit or heading off to missions to the sun and Mars.
