Woodhouse Plus
From October half term to Easter of L6 we dedicate 2.45pm – 4pm on Wednesday afternoons to our enrichment and super-curricular programme called Woodhouse Plus. We know how important it is that students develop beyond the A level courses they are taking.
This will make life more interesting (and fun) and strengthen what they can offer when they apply for their next step.
We encourage students to try the following:
- Pursue an interest – they will often develop transferable skills.
- Consciously build relevant skills through their courses, volunteering, and part time work.
- Develop their CV so it reads well and try to fill any obvious gaps.
- Enjoy new experiences – take opportunities, they help us grow.
- Work with others because all employers look for ‘team players’ in some form.
- Complete an additional course – MOOCs for instance, show an interest and can lead to a qualification.
- Be creative. Writing, drawing, whatever they enjoy.
- Enjoy arts and culture – London is amazing.
- Reading takes you to new places, improves thinking, writing and vocabulary.
