Passion
Tomiwa came to Woodhouse from Canons High School and left us with A levels in English Literature, Computer Science and Mathematics. He went on to study Computer Science with a year in industry at University of East Anglia.
What made you choose Woodhouse?
“The opportunity to expand out of my comfort zone and attend an educational institution focused on higher education. Woodhouse also has a great reputation for academic achievement.
The thing I enjoyed most was meeting a much more diverse set of people, connecting with like-minded individuals and building strong friendships that are still standing today”
I now work as a Senior Software Engineer at Google. I have worked within the Search org and recently transferred into Google Health.
What skills and experiences did you take from Woodhouse that have stayed with you or shaped you in some way?
Networking - Woodhouse was the perfect training ground to step outside the normality of secondary school and actively make new friends. I always say it felt like university before I even started university. It meant that when I progressed to the University of East Anglia, I was much more comfortable starting from scratch. Whenever I went into an interview, group assessment centre, or tech event, I was much more confident speaking out than I was before I enrolled at Woodhouse.
