£36,667 – £52,977 inclusive, per annum
 
The College invites applications from well-qualified and enthusiastic A level History teachers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a friendly and very successful department. This is a full-time and permanent role. ECTs are welcome to apply.
 
Salaries will be on the sixth form college teachers main scale between Point 2 and Point 9, currently £33,415 and £49,725, depending on experience, plus £3,252 London Weighting per annum.

Essential Requirements
• Honours degree in relevant discipline.
• PGCE or equivalent post-16 teaching qualification.
• Recent successful experience of teaching A level History.
• Excellent classroom skills and the ability to employ a range of teaching strategies and resources which engage and support students in the promotion of high-quality learning.
• Enthusiasm for History and the ability to convey that enthusiasm in A level teaching.
• Contribute positively to the work of the department through collaborative planning, and by sharing teaching ideas and resources.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Evaluative approach to own teaching and willingness to try new activities.
• Successful use of intervention strategies to improve levels of progress.
• Skilled in using assessment data and prior learning to inform planning.
• Good behaviour management skills.
• Good ICT skills and an interest in using ICT as a tool in teaching and learning.
• The inter-personal skills and enthusiasm required to undertake the duties of a personal tutor to post-16 age group, if appropriate.
• Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in practice.
• Commitment to safeguarding the interests and needs of young people.
 
Desirable
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Teams to set work and communicate with students and other staff.
• An interest in developing the resource base of the department and the application of new technologies in teaching.
